ALB Landscape Design have for many years been an award winning landscape architects this year being awarded the prestigious 'Premio Firenze Donna' prize.

The Brief

Their Macintosh based systems and server were suffering with misconfiguration, their soft RAID was proving unreliable, as was their backup system.

The Solution

Their server was reconfigured and ALL work and user files were migrated onto a new 1TB Hardware RAID with online spare to allow automatic data rebuilding in the event of a drive failure.

A "Netboot" set up was implemented on the server which allows any user to login at any computer and be accessing their work using the same operating system and applications.

Updates can now be rolled out over the company from the server and restarting a machine always loads a 'fresh' OS.

VPN server set up allows remote working and remote maintenance/repairs.

Unified address book and shared calendars are now utilised.

The Outcome

Anova has signed an on-site service / support agreement with ALB (remotely fixing the minor issues).

Server / client computers are reliable and the backup Solution is tested.

Anova regularly assists with system updates (now managed centrally from the server).
